MATADOR Group participated in the development of BMW 2
Small, family MPV from Munich – BMW 2 Series and BMW 2 PHEV carry Slovak design genes. Constructors from the MATADOR AUTOMATION company from the INDUSTRY AUTOMATION division took care of it. This is one of the most demanding projects considering that the automated line project consisted of up to 420 robots. They are in charge of welding the complete floor and the back of the car. The project included both versions, the classic version powered by an internal combustion engine and a version with a combined so-called plug-in hybrid system. The line is capable of welding both versions, and that was also a condition of the assignment.
During the thirty years of the history of the Slovak Republic, the MATADOR Group has transformed itself from a rubber production to a leading TIER1 supplier, which participates in the most prestigious projects within the automotive industry. Dubnica nad Váhom became the mecca of the Slovak part of the group, where the companies MATADOR Tools (development and production of pressing tools) and MATADOR Automation (industrial automation) operate. It was they who participated in several projects from the automotive industry. These are the models they participated in.
